Vintage Volkswagen Solex Carburetor Model Numbers

The good news is that there are still a lot of old vintage Solex carburetors out there (you see boxes of 'em at every Classic Volkswagen Swap Meet), and carb rebuild kits are still available for most models. But the tricky part is figuring out the correct Solex carb model that belongs on your original engine. To make the job a little easier, check the table below. We've listed most of the common (and some not so common) Solex carburetor model numbers, along with a cross-reference of the VW engine cases that originally came from the factory with that carb installed.
